New tests
We just got the Firewalla Gold and got it installed.
We went through the setting and would like to test them.
One of the setting was the "family". We turned it on and selected all the devices. The waited 10 min to test it.
Opened the browser on a computer and search or "porn" and was able to open a porn site's front page.
Are we missing something in the "Family" setting?

What features did you turn on under the "Family Button"? There are 3 of them
1. Family Protect: This is just sending your DNS queries to OpenDNS and filters "porn" ... and a few other things
2. Safe Search: this is to enable search to filter out "porn" ... The filtering is in strict mode.
3. Social hour: this is the filtering for a few known social sites for one hour.
All of these (maybe with the exception of 3) uses DNS to Filter. So you will need to flush your DNS on your testing box first.
If you want more strict blocks that works even without DNS, tap on devices->[kid device]->turn on porn block there. This block is done at IP layer via SSL inspection

I know #3 only lasts an hour. I got the same no matter what I turned on or not.
I'll try one at a time.

The next thing to look at is, what mode your Gold is on. If it is in router mode, please send us an email help@firewalla.com, we need to look inside.
If it is simple/dhcp mode, please let us know your router type, and also if you have ipv6 on your network.
