Pi hole on a separate LAN

Before this drives me crazy.  Ive installed a separate instance of Pihole instead of Docker/Pihole on the Gold.  I am trying to resolve every individual IP in the Pihole query log instead of one Firewalla Ip forwarding on to the Pihole.

Gold in Router Mode.

I have two LANS, one with an AP servicing all wireless devices (LAN1). The other connected to my Proxmox server running various 'play' virtual servers and containers (LAN2).  In the proxmox server I have a LXC running pihole.  

I have changed the Primary DNS for LAN2 on the gold to point to Pihole.  All device resolve and the client IP gets resolved in the pihole query log.

LAN2  Again I switched the Primary DNS setting in the Gold to point to the Pihole.  The clients resolve ok, but the query log says forwarded from Firewalla.  A quick nslookup on pihole brings up the correct DNS IP for Pihole.

So after all this rambling...Is the forwarding normal in the query log or should I see every single IP for each device accessing the network from both LANS.
