    To me I think things are fine. If you have it update in real time, it consumes more battery life. I would prefer a pull down to refresh on every page, I have to typically go back to the home page to pull down and refresh.

    @james we have very different expectations and usage patterns

    I don’t leave the firewalla app running unless I want to see what is going on or command it to do something like change a setting. So a session is rarely over 15 minutes tops. 

    if I have it open I absolutely want to see accurate data and response or I can’t debug certain issues. Responsiveness is not only meaningful in establishing causation (I did x and y happened) but it is a hallmark of good devices  

    i would gladly sacrifice small amount of battery to reduce the latency like eero, nest, Ubiquity, smartlife/tuya, ASUS, and other iot/networking devices I have used do. This isn’t an unreasonable request.

    When you go to main screen and pull down, do you see the update?

    @firewalla eventually. It sometimes takes up to 45 seconds or so to see some updates in the app. 45 milliseconds would be cool. 45 seconds, not so much.
