IS there a PDF version of the complete User Manual
Hi,
IS there a PDF version of the user manual? I could not find one.
I know your response will probably say it would be hard to keep it up to date and that things change frequently and that a user would need to have to re-download a PDF version when a newer version comes out. And that the website has all the answers...
BUT your customers ( and potential customers) WOULD GREATLY benefit from having one:
That would be very helpful as a reference source for new and old users.
Especially for being able to read about and refer to when in an off line situation.
That would also be very helpful as a what is Firewalla, was does it include, and as a what and how reference source for potential customers wanting an easy way to evaluate the capabilities of your products.
PLEASE !!
Thank you for your consideration.

No such document exists.
If you look at the update rate of pages on the website you will see that changes happen on a daily basis. This is a result of a few things:
- Firewalla releases new features far more often than most vendors.
- Firewalla often updates documents in response to new risks, questions from the community, and from support questions. The site is a very living thing.
This is not a copout or giving them a pass. If a PDF were produced it would be misleading unless somehow, it was dynamically created from a set of web pages.
I look at various similar vendors' documentation on a daily basis. I can tell you that Firewalla's is head and shoulders above pretty much all others. Even when a good document exists on a vendor's website I have to go through 10-100 pages to find what I'm looking for. With a good google search I can find anything I need about Firewalla and if I can't— I send a note and either they point me to the answer or provide fresh content. There is also a very helpful community that usually answers questions within hours at most.
May I ask what information you are looking for that you haven't been able to locate?

I concur with HF.
Michael Bierman, if you have to look through 10-100 pages to find what you need, you don't know how to actually use a .pdf file.
I'll pretend you don't know, based on your above comment.
First is to look in the table of contents, if it's there, just click on the table entry which takes you there.
Otherwise, use Ctrl-F to bring up the search box, type a word in and go. Instant answers.
If that brings up too many instances, click on the Down Arrow to the right of the search box which then gives you various options to further quickly find the content you are looking for.
Google search is not as good, because a product .pdf has the REAL answers, whereas, Google is stuffed with bad information and requires digging again.
Looking on the Firewalla support site is a slow process and title keywords don't always work, in fact, most of the time.
Lastly, when you're network is torn apart because you can't figure something out or are trying to rebuild it or troubleshoot, you need a handy document at hand, not a website on an internet you don't have.

We do have a manual page link https://firewalla.com/pages/user-manual
Since many of the features move very fast, these manual pages are extremely dynamic. A static PDF will be outdated within 1 or 2 months ...

It would be great to have a PDF version. Let's say you publish every 3 or 4 months. I think the biggest use case now is RAG. I am using Ollama with Anything LLM, and you can load a PDF straight into it and start querying away. It is so simple. You can point to a URL, but as far as I know, it does not try to traverse the links.
I think more will be requesting this in the future, and hopefully, it will lighten the Tech Support over time as the models get better and we can query them better.
