Hi,

I am looking into Firewalla Purple SE, but I have few questions. 

1. The port speed is 500 mbps, does that means if my internet speed is > 500mpbs, is Purple SE will be the bottleneck?

2. I have TP Link er605 as router with vlan segmentation. 

      Can I plug in Purple SE, between er605 and my Modem? 

      What mode should I pick? Simple, bridge etc?

  1. Yes, if your internet ever get >500mbit, purple SE will be the bottleneck. (also, if you are running PPPoE over the WAN, the speed is 400mbit due to the overhead of the PPPoE protocol)

  2. You are best running Purple in router mode, see https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/4411167832851-Firewalla-Router-Mode-Configuration-Guide-

  Thanks for the reply. I have Tp link router with VLAN segregation etc, took long time to figure it out and set it up, don't want to do the whole thing again. If I plug in the Firewalla to one of the Lan ports, will it work? not sure how, but Networking is not my forte :)
