Recent changes causing Chromecast / IoT network mDNS reflector issues??

Hi Everyone,

Firewalla Purple here, everything has been great. Three networks; private, iot, guest. I have some chromecast speakers on the iot vlan. Everything working fine for months.

Last week, something changed: all my chromecast audio devices disappeared. 

What's changed with Firewalla? Anyone else have the same issue? To see them, I now have to manually connect to the IOT network, but they are inaccessible from the private network now. To be clear, this is a totally new occurrence - I haven't been playing with settings to cause this!

  Tap on settings->advanced->configuration->mDNS reflector, and make sure it is on for the segments you want to reflect. If this is on, see if your switch need to change  https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049613014-Firewalla-Gold-when-network-is-segmented-will-I-be-able-to-use-AirPlay-and-Chromcast-cross-networks-

  Yeah, the mDNS reflector is switched ON for both the iot and private networks. I've got unifi APs and IGMP snooping is off on these (also that config hasn't changed for a long time). I'm at a loss as to why it's just quit working in the last week...

  Have you tried to reboot the AP/controllers/Switches? The mDNS reflector is fairly simple, it just reflect and usually the problem is on the switch side, not sending out those packets.

  I just logged back in to say I did exactly that - and bingo! I think you nailed it and it was an AP/switch issue. Couldn't reboot earlier in the day as we're a work-from-home household! Thanks for the help and input.
