Live Throughput for remote sites?

It would be nice if we can see live throughput at remote sites (instead of having to be on the LAN/local), is there a reason this technically is not possible? curious

  Firewalla uses a mailbox type of IPC when remote. So it is fairly expensive to transport live data. When you are local, the IPC is local.
