    That is hard to do without being at the OS level. For example, iOS and macOS can be aware of what app is in the foreground even if network usage is minimal. Some things, like video streaming have little to no keyboard activity and once a network connection is made may be hard to tell if the user is "using" the app. Also some apps are "used" in the background as in they monitor something. Does that count as screen time? 

    So I think it will always be challenging for a product like Firewalla to accurately estimate the amount of time spent in an app. Estimates would be very rough and may be kind of useless because it isn't possible to know if it is 10% or 25% wrong and in which direction.

    Well im looking for the same way Circle does it, which is not at the OS level but rather om the network.
