Having exactly the same problem here. Just set it all up and was quite disappointed the Android App doesn't have that feature. I also tried to automate it but so far without luck.

Can we perhaps put this down as a feature request: FW app with own Wireguard VPN client that would disable the tunnel when on local WiFi?

Or anybody got a better idea? :-)

Meanwhile I solved the problem by installing "Tasker" app and importing a tasker template for wireguard.

But would be much user-friendly if there will be a "Firewalla" app that can do this.

I've been using VPN Client Pro (https://play.google.com/store/search?q=vpn+client+pro&c=apps&hl=en_US&gl=US) on Android to connect to my FWG with Wireshark and OpenVPN. It supports auto-connect for both types of VPN. I have mine set up to automatically connect when on the cell network or an unknown WiFi network, and to disconnect when connected to my WiFi network. It's worked well for me, and maybe easier than using Tasker, although it is a paid app.
