Active Protect and auto block rules, ever release or manual cleanup necessary?

Subject kinda says it all.  I am currently fine tuning the home network and lab environment, loving my new Gold and Purple.  i do have one question, is there a time frame that the Gold will remove the BLOCK rule that it configures the auto-blocking for?

If not, is there any plans to offer a switch and/or option box for how long all auto block generating rules would get removed if we so wanted?  Double if not, do you have a recommendation on the # of rules that would start impacting performance?

I ask because I imagine that after a year, there might be a significant amount of auto-rules created and I'm not sure what the actual number would be that would start affecting the performance and/or memory of the firewalla boxes.

  Firewalla will remove automatically applied rules if the site in question is no longer a threat.

  Strange for me. If I disable active protect, many of the rules created remain. Interestingly they show in the android version and NOT in the android version.  Is it necessary to delete them all other than the default rules?  Is there better documentation?
