Open VPN config for Verizon Mifi M2100 5G hotspot
Hello
I am trying to establish an Open VPN connection on a Verizon Mifi M2100 5G to my Firewalla Gold at home. That is, creating a site-site VPN connection between my remote location and my home network. Using the config file generated by the Firewalla app fails with a non-specific file error. It won't accept the Firewalla produced config as-is.
Searching, I found some old posts with some clues. One was that the Mifi did not work with the "mute" commands in the config, so I commented them out. Doing that, the config file now loaded ok and would attempt to connect, but fails with this in the logs:
neither stdin nor stderr are a tty device and you have neither a controlling tty nor systemd - can't ask for 'Enter Private Key Password:'. If you used --daemon, you need to use --askpass to make passphrase-protected keys work, and you can not use --auth-nocache.
I'm no network or vpn expert, and don't see any commands in the config file even remotely resembling what this error says.
The settings page on the Mifi has a drag/drop box for the config file, and user/pw fields. I know from another post that the Firewalla authenticates on a certificate not a login. I expected the user-ID to be ignored and used the password provided on the Firewalla config page.
At this point I don't know what to try next. Or, if this Mifi just isn't going to work with the Firewalla.
Separately, I dropped the same config file into Tunnelblick on my Macbook Pro and it works fine.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
