  Mike, it worked for me. I disconnected the switch downstream from the Xfinity modem/router (I never used the wifi served up by this device) and plugged in my laptop. I logged in to the Xfinity modem/router (10.0.0.1) and changed the mode from router to gateway, then bounced Xfinity while plugging in the FWG. In 5 minutes it was all settled down and I was able to hit the internet from a FWG port....restored the downstream wifi in bridge mode. Worked like a champ with no intervention.
