Gold to purple. vpn with starlink

hi, 

I have my gold as router - plugged into starlink (not their router) and trying to setup VPN sever for my purple (for use in camper van travilling in Europe in 2 months,, to connect back to gold and my resources was etc on the gold network... but when I try to setup gold as vpn server etc I am asked to setup port forwarding on the gold when trying to select purple as client . I have tried to setup forwarding but only allowed to setup to a connected device and not the whole network ,, I am stumped is it starlink or me as not the most technical :-) and I bought the purple to allow me to go back to network at home, any advice or guidance would be of a great help

  I don't think starlink gives you a public IP, which is required for VPN server. See https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360055686674-How-to-see-if-you-have-a-public-IP-address-

  thank you for the info and help , looks like I cannot use the gold and purple as I planned , so back to the drawing board ......

  I tried in reverse purple as server using phone hotspot and  gold as client (using starlink) , works perfectly, so starlink is the stopper for me, hope that firewall could help in the future and see if a work round in their server setup , started reading about (remote.it)  that gets around public ip issue..

  Does the startlink have IPv6 address that's public? (meaning you can ping it from your hotspot?)

  Are you saying you are plugged into the dish directly? I don't think you can do that. you have to use the router to either pull from starlink's wifi or have a dongle for internet access.
