Computer upgrade fw history data migration (new hw address for same pc)?

I plan on replacing the motherboard of my NAS and I would like to preserve the data and migrate it to the new NAS hw nic address - I feel like nic hw address is the unique Identifier in firewalla. Is there a way that I can preserve all the rules (and historical data) for the NAS if I replace the nic? (I know I can change the dhcp reservation) however all previous historical data would be lost as the nic hw address would be different. Is that correct? Thanks!
