Clarification on potential future monthly fees

From the FWG Pro page: "There is no monthly fee for standard features. In the future, we may provide additional apps or features for pro/business users for a reasonable fee." Looking to possibly upgrade to a FWG Pro from a FWG SE... but want to make sure the above statement doesn't mean the home network "pro" who splurged on a "pro" model might suddenly be required to pay for otherwise free functionality? In other words, "pro" users in this case doesn't mean specifically owners of "pro" model Firewallas... it's referring to potentially any user that wants *additional* unique/business-oriented features not going to be made available in the free SW provided to all FWG (including Pro) users. Please confirm. Thanks!

  This refers to services like https://firewalla.net (MSP service)

  So far the MSP service (above) is the only paid service running outside of your firewalla that requires a fee. Everything else come with the unit, free

  I just purchased thinking a standard feature would be configuring a firewall locally using a web interface would be standard.  First time I have had to do something just from a phone.  Its clunky.
  
  You have to pay for local config from a web browser. So that is one standard feature that is a paid service. I was so disappointed.  Or is there a way to do it locally?

  When we started the project, we want everything to be simple and also powerful, this is where the "app" is coming from.

  Why not a local web? or even cli? If I remember correctly, we want the presentation layer (UI) to be separate from the control logic, meaning, they should never be running on the same box. The reason is, a lot of the attacks are often web based, and to keep another layer (web) will take a lot more effort and time to have it separate from the "security" part of the box.

  The MSP interface (https://firewalla.net) is a standalone interface, which at the moment only cost $4 a month, and has a lot more functions beyond just a simple management interface. (Like AI and also another security engine that can loop through 30 or 180 days of data)

  Ok that kind of makes sense.
  
  Also for some reason I thought it was $4.99 for 3 month trial then $49 a month after.  So I guess that isn't too bad.  I will give it a go, still a bit steep for the single device home user though maybe its worth it once I see what you can do.

  You probably saw the yearly plan price. It says $49 per year after trial.
