A Note on Firewalla Pricing and Supply Chain Costs
Like many other tech companies, Firewalla is being affected by rising global supply chain costs across semiconductors, DDR4/5 memory, eMMC storage, networking components, manufacturing, tariffs, and shipping.
Because of this, pricing for certain Firewalla units will increase gradually over time, and Firewalla Purple availability will be impacted. (Purple SE is not impacted)
For example, some DDR4 memory spot-market prices have increased more than 20x year-over-year in certain configurations. Industry reports also show conventional DRAM contract prices rising sharply quarter-over-quarter, while NAND Flash and embedded storage components such as eMMC are also under significant pressure, with some eMMC/UFS contract prices reportedly doubling.
A major reason is the strong global demand for chips and memory for AI and data center growth. This demand affects the entire electronics industry, including companies like us that build compact security and networking appliances.
We do our best to keep Firewalla pricing fair and stable. When costs increase, raising prices is our last resort. We try to absorb as much of the increase as we can, while still maintaining security, product quality, software development, support, and long-term availability.
As a small company, we build products for professionals and businesses who care about security. Our goal isn’t to chase short-term profit; it’s to build reliable products and support them for years to come.
We will stay transparent with you as supply chain conditions change.
Thank you for supporting Firewalla.
