Device is online but no IP address

I have a Wi-Fi speaker which is online in the Firewalla app but does not have an IP. I can see that the MAC address from the Firewall app matches the speaker app data. The only thing I can think of is that maybe the speaker has two network interface cards and is also wired to Ethernet so perhaps Firewalla is showing an inactive Wi-Fi NIC that did not get an IP assigned. I am wondering how that could happen. Thanks.

  It is highly possible that it is an inactive NIC. But for us to discover it, it must have some type of IP, unless that IP was later moved to something else. 

  Do you have ipv6 enabled on your network?

  No ipv6. I initially setup the speaker via Wi-Fi using its Android app then switched it over to Ethernet right after it was setup. I guess there was not enough time to assign an IP for the Wi-Fi connection. Thanks.
