Hardware issue maybe? Not getting IP from DHCP
I have 2 FWGs, one at my house and another at a family members house. I was trying to configure a VOIP ATA to be used at my family members house. However the FWG won't assign an IP to the ATA for some strange reason, I can't find out why?
Both FWG's are in router mode, and have all ports (minus WAN) as part of the same LAG with all networks applied.
FWG SE (location 1) - VOIP ATA configured here to use at location 2, connected via ethernet without issue using DHCP
FWG (location 2) - VOIP ATA
- 2 different ethernet cables inc known working
- 2 different ports on the FWG
- Activity lights on both the FWG port and VOIP ATA
- Rebooted both devices
- All other devices seem to be working ok, and getting IPs
Where can I look at logs or something to work out what is wrong?

On your FWG, does another device work on the port where you are plugging the ATA? If it doesn't work either, you have a hardware issue.
If other devices work, when you plug in ATA, do you see link light, if you do, that something wrong with the ATA side.
If there is NO link light, do you have a switch? Try to plug the ATA into that switch.

I thank for the reply. I spent a lot of time troubleshooting this over the weekend, but in a good way made progress, on the other side ports 1 and 2 are not working on the FWG. Due to being in the UK the ONT is 98% of the time next to the front door of the property, which is a real pain.
Per your suggestion I tried the ATA on port 1 with no success, and then swapped Port 3 from a switch to an ATA and it worked immediately and no config change needed! My normal configuration, is as below.
Port 4 - WAN
Port 3 - Switch (remote)
Port 2 - ATA
Port 1 - Spare
I did go back and plug the switch in to ports 2 and 1, however the FWG would not communicate with the LAN as it normally would. Therefore we have proved it is not a 3rd party devices at fault, the issues only happen on ports 1 and 2 of the FWG
This presents me with an issue, the FWG isn't really useful with only 1 WAN and 1 LAN port, are there any known issues with the ports failing? or what options do I have?
Thanks
