Bare metal / native install on Firewalla Purple
Before moving to FW Purple, I ran a FW Blue on which Pi-Hole was installed 'natively'.
On FW Purple, there are instructions to run it from Docker.
I was however wondering if it would be possible to install Pi-Hole (and e.g. Unbound) natively on FW Purple. That would make it easier to configure and would solve my endless trials in getting both to run using Docker.
The obvious downside is of course that this might be less 'safe' for less experienced users.
Just my 2 cents...

I wouldn't do that myself.
With some carved out exceptions, Firewalla assumes it can get rid of anything installed at anytime. Running docker containers is not that difficult and an extremely useful. It is a safe, inexpensive way to run something without risking the integrity of the box itself.

@Michael: completely understand. It's just that I was used to run Pi-Hole and Unbound on a separate device earlier on. Right now however, I also want to use the Firewalla to the extent of its capabilities, and that isn't possible with Pi-Hole and Unbound on a separate device...
I'm currently keeping myself happy with Pi-Hole in Docker but can't help and think that the combo I had before, combined with FW, would be the 'dream'...
Maybe an 'expert' mode that would require specific access given by the FW team could be a middle way to avoid support line overload? :)
