Suggestions for Switches/APs to use VLANs with Purple Install
I just received my Purple unit and plan on replacing my entire Ubiquity UDM setup that I was using with a Firewalla Red inserted on the Wireless vlan.
I want the Purple to run in Router mode and control everything on the network. I want to setup 3-4 Vlans (LAN, Wireless, IoT, Guest, etc) and will probably need 2 APs.
I've seen lots of posts with users having difficulty setting up VLANs on the Purple and getting all their switches/APs to play nice together. Since I'm starting from scratch are there any recommendations on a which vendor/devices are known to work well with Vlan setup and not have odd issues?
I'm considering TPLink, TrendNet, Netgear, etc.. Trying to keep costs reasonable.
Appreciate the help...

Setting up VLAN's on the purple is no different than the Gold, so not sure where you get the impression it is difficult.
But if you want to pick a switch, netgear and tplink ones are relatively simple and inexpensive, all the configuration can be done locally. Recently we start with the Aruba switches (bigger ones), they can be configured via a phone. Ubnt is also not bad, for that you will need a controller

With you the Gold you can use the physical Eth ports for your vlans, but with Purple you are force to setup vlan tagging and trunks, etc. I know it should be simple in theory, but there are alot of posts on these Community forums of users having trouble getting everything setup correctly. I was just wondering if people noticed a certain switch/AP vendor that seemed to work well with the Firewalla's and were simple to configure.
Thanks,
