All the ports on the Gold are "tagged ports", so you need to configure the VLAN on your PC on port 2 with a VLAN ID, and also the VLAN you created on the firewalla will need to include port 2

    Thanks, but still not working.

I went to my ethernet controller, right clicked, clicked configure then under advanced found the VLAN ID put one on. but then the computer wouldn't get internet connection.

I have the main LAN on the FWG on port 1, and the VLAN on port 1 and 2. it will have SSID mapping on port 1 and the computer on port 2. I tried with the main LAN including or not including port 2 but it kept connecting and showing in the FWG network as a computer connected to the VLan but didn't have any internet access.

Paste your configuration on the firewalla here, we can see if there are any configuration errors. You may also paste your PC configuration as well, in case some of our other customers know how to configure it. (none of us configured VLAN directly on a PC before, we always use it behind a managed switch)

I've configured a VLAN in Ubuntu before, but never Windows. I know I've seen some settings before for Windows, and it sounds like you found the same one. Doing a quick Google search I found this article about Windows 10

    http://woshub.com/configure-multiple-vlan-on-windows/

If you have Ubuntu/Linux then check out

Not all NICs have the ability to do VLAN so you might have to find out if yours supports it. If it doesn't then you could get a small managed switch (Under $100, check out TP-Link) to put in line and configure the switch to do VLAN.

Here is a TP-Link switch that is $37.19 I've got installed. I have verified it does do VLAN. You would need to set up the port on the TP-Link switch as a "untagged" VLAN if you decide to purchase it. (Tagged will allow the packet to pass through the port if the packet is tagged with a VLAN ID. Untagged tells the switch that any traffic on this port is assigned to VLAN ID x)

Thanks, I can run it through my wifi orbipro as an AP but i wanted to connect it directly to the FWG.

Whats weird is it assigns my computer an IP in the right range based on the VLan and Shows in the Vlan devices but it has no internet access. Do i have to do something to the Vlan to allow internet?

It didn’t fall into the quarantine group did it? Can you Ping any devices on that network?
