Hey - I found your question while looking for an answer to mine. I found my answer and I think it will help you:

Ok so "Ports not forwarded" are ports that Firewalla has found your device listening to... so in your case, the device you are looking at is "listening" on port 80 (presumably it has a web interface for configuration or something like that). This means it will RESPOND to a request on port 80 if it receives a request. However, Firewalla is telling you that despite this device listening on port 80, it is not allowing anybody OUTSIDE your firewalla to connect to that device on port 80, so your device will never receive a request on port 80 from outside firewalla. This is why you can connect to this device's web interface from INSIDE your network, but not from OUTSIDE.

Your device should have no problem connecting to an update server because it will have full access to REQUEST outside your firewalla (unless you've blocked some outbound connections...but that's another topic).

The other device on your network that has 9 items under "ports not forwarded" means that it's listening on those 9 ports, but Firewalla isn't sending inbound connection requests to those ports on that device. The 5 that ARE forwarded will be sent from the internet to that device (make sure your passwords and security settings are strong!)

tl;dr - "Ports not forwarded" are ports a device is listening on, but Firewalla is not sending to that device.

    Hope this helps.
