Are my settings preserved when I upgrade devices?

Let's say that I upgrade my Blue+ device to a Purple. Are all my custom settings preserved, or any of them? For example, I've assigned nicknames and fixed IP addresses to all the devices on my network - will I have to re-do all that on the new device? Thank you!   -Doug
