OpenVPN problem with latest iOS client

I've been trying to Google this issue but nothing has come up. Please enlighten me on what I am doing wrong.

I've had a working OpenVPN setup for a while on my FWG. Recently, likely as a result of the OpenVPN client update on iOS, the VPN connection stopped working. The client reports the error: 

opensslcontext: ssl_ctx_use_certificate failed: error:0a00018f:ssl routines:ee key too small

I've regenerated the certificate on Firewalla and reconfigured the client, but no luck. However, on another iOS device which is still running an older version of the client, it works just fine?!

    Can you give me a pointer of the openvpn client app you are using on the iOS?

    Have you tried the same ceritifcate on other clients?

    The iOS client app is OpenVPN Connect (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/openvpn-connect/id590379981)

    Yes, I just reloaded a freshly minted cert on a device with the older client and it worked.

    The older version of the client that works is version 3.4.2.

    The current version that does not work is 3.7.2.

    We've tested on a Gold box using the same Open VPN client App with version 3.7.2. We can't reproduce the issue. To further investigate, we've opened a support ticket for you. Please check your inbox, and we can continue from there.

    To close on this in case anyone encounters it, I had to completely uninstall and reinstall the client to make it work!

    Glad to hear it! Sounds like an Open VPN app side issue, and shouldn't be Firewalla related
