If your Google Wifi router not working properly or if you are sending the device back to Google, you must first perform a factory reset.
Resetting your Google Wifi erases all data on the device, which helps it work properly, protects your data, and clears your settings.
Just keep in mind that if you perform a reset on the device, this information will be kept in the app for up to six months.
Here's what you need to know to reset your Google Wifi, in two different ways.
How to reset a Google Wifi on the device
1. Unplug the power cord from the Google Wifi unit.
2. Begin pressing and holding the reset button on the back of the device.
3. With the button pressed, reconnect the power supply.
4. When the unit flashes white and then blue, release the button.
If the hardware continues to blink blue for another half minute and then the lights turn solid blue, the reboot is in progress.
Once the blue flash starts again, the device reboots and can be used as new or shipped.
