As we gear up for the release of Purple, we want to see Firewalla's in the wild. So we are running a photo contest, to demonstrate small network is fun, exciting, and NOT boring!
Here's how it works.
- Post photos here, in this thread, of your network set up including at least one Firewalla. No need to be pretty, sometimes functionality will win!
- Include what mode you are running (Router, DHCP, Simple, or Bridge).
- Optionally, add a network diagram showing your network topology.
- Optionally, if you are doing anything cool, let us know too.
If you are just browsing, please find the best (you define what's best, and can vote more than one) and then vote it up by clicking on the up arrow next to the image. (down arrow also work to downvote)
If you are voting make sure you scroll to the next page, there are lots more awesome designs.
Login is required for voting.
Based on the number of votes received from the community:
The first prize will win a Firewalla Gold.
The second prize will win a Firewalla Purple.
The third prize will win a Firewalla Blue Plus.
The fourth prize will win a Firewalla Red.
The contest will run from now until December 2, 2021 11:59PM Pacific Time.
Important: Please do not post any sensitive information. Any submissions require that you agree to allow us to use your photos in any future marketing materials.
Please only post your network here.

Good day to all! I received my Firewalla Purple yesterday (cutting it close to the contest).
My network is a cable modem in to Firewalla (acting in router mode). My Amplifi Alien router is in bridge mode. I run about 53 devices on it, between wifi and direct ethernet. I also programmed in Surfshark VPN for select devices and ad-block. I've already noticed more efficient network allocation.
I created a movie of my network for the contest, because why not. I like to do things differently. Enjoy this video and let me know what you think. This is a Man Cave dedication! I hope it's allowed as an entry. Check it out!
Otherwise, here is a pic. Cheers all and happy to be a part of this! Good luck to all!! The Firewalla Purple sits on a dual fan device that keeps it cool. The black wires on the right side are all temperature activated fans mounted outside the network closet to draw the heat into the Man Cave. That helps in the winter!

My firewalla in its natural habitat. UPS on one side, cable modem on the other, on top of a big network switch. Does its job without drawing attention to itself. As happy doing its network duties in router mode as it is running my home automation (NodeRED, Phoscon and Mosquito in docker containers).
Would love a slightly more capable one for more docker duties, but on the whole very happy with it.

Just got my Purple unit a couple days ago, and finally had a moment to install it. Here's some basic info:
- Running in Router mode
- The fan above it is in place b/c this Lego-shelf used to hold my older units (Ubiliquiti Router + switch), and the combo got quite hot. I have to adjust the Legos now for the smaller unit, but I'll probably keep the fan, since I like to provide extra cooling for my h/w, and it doesn't take much juice. Why Legos? I believe their heat resistance is pretty decent, I can reconfigure them when I change hardware, and most of all, I still find them fun/relaxing to play with ;) . Ok, yeah, I also have a lot left over that my kids don't use anymore...
- I don't have anywhere near the complex topology of other folks in this thread, but I do have a variety of devices, mainly linux (System76 w/ POP OS, Ubuntu, etc.), Apple, Windows, etc.
- You can't see it from the pic here, but down below are a couple tower pc's,
- one running Opnsense fw (now replaced by the new Firewalla Purple), and
- one running Docker containers (for Ubiquiti AP controller, Graylog, etc.); I haven't tried installing containers on the Firewalla device yet b/c I just got it, but if all goes well for a few weeks I'll probably try it out at that point. I'm looking forward to reclaiming some space (and electricity) w/ the small Purple unit; I might get the Gold and use the Purple for travel, but I didn't want to get ahead of myself since I'm new to Firewalla.

My network is not sophisticated, but it's my happy little network. I wanted to secure from browsing to my smart home devices and I just got this Firewalla Blue Plus in the mail today! I decided to go with Firewalla because it is just so simple to set up - especially for people like me. I'm running this in Simple mode attached to my TP-Link wireless router.

Here is my home network running a Firewall Gold in Router mode. I got tired of dealing with home routers and upgraded to the Aruba Instant on running 3 AP22s. The system with e Gold is rock solid and I no longer have to deal with the loss of a wireless signal. The kids devices have their own VLAN and guest too. Plus al the IoT also do with the IoT not being able to see anything else on the network.

Almost forgot. Here is my home DHPC setup. :)
I use:
Netgear cable modem
Winston privacy filter
BitDefender Virus protection
Ax6000 Mu-MINO WiFi Router
Firewalla Gold
Cubbit-Cell
Helm server
Deeper Connect Mini
Flter
InVizbox WIFI/Wired
Anon Box
2x Raspberry Pi Tor Proxy WiFi
And when i have to travel:
2x Homing P2P
2x InVizbox Portable P2P VPN
and eventually... my new
Firewalla Purple :)
Stay safe and healthy, Mahalo :)

Please give us a couple more days. We have two users telling us that there are a few last min odd votes (up and down, with screenshots). And we are trying to find the logs to see if we can see the same. Since Zendesk is very limited in logging, we may just have to go with whatever we captured.

Thank you all for submitting your awesome network! Please keep them coming! We are going to do ad-hoc rewards for future and current submitters! Likely once per month! We hope you all enjoy showing and also reading through the entries. We certainly did!
Here are the winners based on the vote count on the day (11:58PM December 2nd (US Pacific Time)) we closed the contest. We will be contacting the winners this week.
