Firewalla "Monitoring" Apple Messages issues

A friend is asking... did anyone face this issue? Messages on Mac and iPhone can't send photos when connecting to the Firewalla. Mac via Ethernet and iPhone via Wifi. Disabling "Monitoring" fixes this issue. Is this a bug?
