Firewall Blue

I am new to this community and I have some questions about the Firewall Blue device.  My current setup is this. 

Modem----Synology 2600 router-----Fingbox

I am looking to replace the Fingbox with the Firewalla device to help with notification and detection of new devices. 

1.  Can the Firewalla device "manage" devices when OUTSIDE the home such on LTE?

2.  I would like to receive notifications on my phone after I leave the home and on my work computer.  Can Firewalla device do this?

3. How often does Firewalla release new firmware to the device and provide updates?
