    Reset the unit and start over? I have many, many tens of hours put into the configuration of this unit. I'm not going to reset it and start over. There has to be a better answer than that. Speaking of which, how do I backup my current configuration?

    I have an operating router in front of the Firewalla already. Still can't change it over from router mode. The problem is not what's in front of the Firewalla from what I see. The problem is the Firewalla won't allow me to change it's mode from Router.

    What else should I do here besides wiping out my configuration and starting over from scratch?

    What kind of errors are you getting while changing from simple/dhcp mode to router mode? Any errors?

    When booting up Firewalla Gold, are you able to hear a beep sound from Gold? Please leave the red dongle connected to use bluetooth.

    Before you make any changes to Gold, please try to switch phone to cellular and see if app can load data from box successfully, this can rule out other connectivity issues.

    First if you are having issues, the best is to reset the unit via the app and start over;  https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004370213-How-to-Reset-Firewalla-Box-#h_749875f1-f0bc-4740-88d2-ceeca97b0eba

    And when you are switching, some modes will require topology change, so you need to be aware of that. See https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004292514-How-does-Firewalla-Intercept-Traffic-Which-Firewalla-mode-to-use-

    Router -> Bridge

    This mode will require you to bring up your own router first (or turn modem into a router) and then you can do the conversion, without that, your bridge will not work.

    Router->DHCP

    This will require you to bring up your own router first (or turn modem into a router), then you can use Firewalla as a DHCP server.
