Will the gold or blue plus work ok with an asus rt-ax88u....preferably in router or transparent bridge mode ?

  The Blue+ does not support a transparent bridge or router mode.

  If you want to use router mode, you can use firewalla gold as the main router and asus as AP, it will very likely to work. (Asus needs to be in AP mode).

  If you want to use bridge mode, you will need a router after your ISP router and before asus. (likely asus will need to be in AP mode as well)
