The MSP services run in a cluster of hosts. In the business version, if one server is down, another will immediately take over (hot standby). In the personal version, if one server is down, a cold standby can be bring up, this may take 10 to 30 min.

Thanks for the reply. My main question is, if a firewalla box at an office has a hardware fault and needs replacement, will all the settings be restored from MSP, or do we still need a phone to restore settings?

If a box at the office is dead, you can use the "replace" function https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015356093-How-do-I-migrate-data-from-one-Firewalla-Box-to-another#h_01FSP4EAFF41RHSSJTAPPQ272A

You may need to add that unit back to the MSP after restore. Let me double check and get back to you

It's confirmed that you need to manually add the unit back to the MSP after restore process via phone app

    Great thanks for the confirmation.

FWIW, in a business context it would be really helpful to be able to do everything via the web interface rather than relying on the phone. The other thing I'd love to see is the ability to manually backup/restore config just in case a setting change goes wrong.

I still love Firewalla for home and very small businesses though, no better product for those environments!

We are working hard on the web interface for sure. If there are anything you want to add, please let us know.

I've forwarded to the team and see if they can make "replace" to work with MSP.

Is it possible to have true HA with two gold pros? Thinking about using this for a business but not sure the method to quickly (seamlessly?) failover to a 2nd gold Pro.

How strict are you with failover timing? it is likely much simpler just keep a cold standby and power it up when the primary fails. Otherwise, the deployment cost may be expensive to have duplicate WAN, and also LAN (switch)
