AP7C WiFi7 Speed
Looking at the data sheets, the AP7 and AP7C units are listed as having different WiFi7 throughputs and MIMO channels.
- 6 GHz
- AP7: 4 x 4 (DL/UL MU-MIMO)
- AP7C: 2 x 2 (DL/UL MU-MIMO)
- Max. data rate
- AP7: 6 GHz 11.5 Gbps (BW320)
- AP7C: 6 GHz 5.764 Gbps (BW320)
I understand that these are pre-production specification sheets so things may change by the time the final product ships.
The messaging from Firewalla about AP7 and AP7C provide the impression that they are two form factors with the same capabilities. It seems strange for the network implementation to differ between these models. Is there anything public that provides more details about the reasons for these differences?
Thanks.

These are the production specifications.
As of the difference in capabilities (I assume you are asking the 6ghz 4x4 vs 2x2 on the AP7C), The problem is heat, and size.
In order for the ceiling mount to look decent in a home or a small office, it can't be huge; so to keep the heat down, and most people will PoE these units, there is less importance for wifi backhaul. So by reducing 4x4 to a 2x2, we get a reasonable sized AP
