AP7 Installation Guide: Observations on Step 3-2

The Installation Guide is clear in Step 3-1 that power is to be applied before any other connections are made.

However, Step 3-2 does not indicate the state that the AP7 needs to be in before making connections.  Would it be acceptable to make a connection while the AP7 front LED was Red?

In an abundance of caution when installing my first AP7 I waited until the front LED changed from Red to Blinking White (it might have gone though other colors that I did not observe).  Everything worked fine.

I followed this same procedure with my second AP7, but had a momentary concern that the AP7s might establish a wireless backhaul before I connected the Ethernet cable for the wired backhaul.

The Installation Guide is good, but perhaps some clarifications of the device state and when connections should be made would improve the Guide?

  I’d assume it doesn’t care. It will flip back and forth between wired/wireless back haul if you pull the ethernet. I had the ethernet connected before power and had no issues.
