Spanning tree protocol on gold pro
-
I'd like to think that I know what I'm doing...
I'm not sure if this is by design, but the native/default/untagged vlan1/lan works a little different than the other vlans. I included a link to a snippet of what I'm seeing for spanning-tree.My switch for vlan1/lan forwards on both ports. This seems the expected behavior and the firewalla controls the forwarding. Shows type "P2p Edge Peer (STP)."
My switch for the other vlans blocks on the firewalla's 2.5gb port and forwards on firewalla's 10gb port. Shows type "P2p Edge."
My switch to switch connections, show type "P2p." My switch to server connections, show type "P2p Edge." I don't have anything else that shows type "P2p Edge Peer (STP)."My firewalla for vlan1/lan (br9) forwards on the 10gb port and blocks on the 2.5gb port. Shows my switch as designated root.
My firewalla for the other vlans forwards on both ports. Shows itself as designated root.
Disabling spanning-tree on the vlans made no difference from what I can tell, except that "brctl show" confirms STP enabled is no for those vlans.
Disabling spanning-tree on vlan1/lan broke everything. Is this something on the firewalla, the OS, or is it my switch? I'm running rapid-pvst. I'm fine with the way it is working and understand it a bit better. I also don't normally use vlan1 except for testing.
