Access point search
HI,
I have my Blue+ in DHCP mode, currently connected to a wired router, I have my Netgear Nighthawk in AP mode serving my wireless devices. Unfortunately the Netgear is in need of replacement. In my hunt for the optimal wireless solution, I want to make sure that what I procure will work with my Firewalla. Is there anything I should be avoiding.
I am considering a possible MESH(wifi6) or even just a WIFI5 solution - my understanding is that I can use these but I will not monitor the Access point or its satellites, is this correct?
Any advice or comments will be apprecited.

Do check https://firewalla.com/compatibility for the latest.
If your new router does support turning off DHCP, then it will work nicely with the DHCP mode for sure. (This mode is actually one of the better modes and it allows you to use VPN client features directly).
Simple mode is still good if your router supports it.

I went with the Aruba AP12 ($159 Best Buy) with Firewalla Gold. Works beautifully and extremely easy to set up. Captive portal for guest wireless network I feel needs a little bit of work. I am currently not using that feature although I wanted it.
Don't know if Blue+ has VLAN support. I guess it depends if you are trying to segment your network. If not, the Linksys WiFi6 Velop routers work well. Have those as well for streaming multiplayer games on Xbox, Playstation, etc. Those devices are hard-wired into a Velop node upstairs, the main node downstairs and configured with a wireless link between the two Velop routers. Can also connect devices using wireless.
Stay away from Linksys AC1200 unless you do not need 2.4GHz. For whatever reason, clients connect to 2.4 GHz at 10 Mbps (802.11b). Turning off the 2.4GHz radio clients got full speed. This device was removed from my network.

Thanks for the post Steven, I received my AP22 on Monday, I connected it to my Blue+ in dhcp mode and it appears to function as designed. I did turn of monitoring so I can perhaps utilize some of the restrictive features it offers but for the most part, it seems like everything is working as it should, speed, connectivity and security. So I am extremely happy so far but will test a little more in the coming days before signing off on this thread.
Had I gone with Firewalla Gold in the beginning I would've been better but am happy that this worked out.
