Should Firewalla Blue be slowing my local network transfers (not internet)

Just started using the Firewalla Blue and learning a lot.  I have noticed that after installing the firewalla my network transfer speeds have dropped some.  I am seeing about a 25% reduction in data transfer speeds between items on my local network.  I am quite the novice to this but I thought the firewalla only affected packets from the internet.  Did I make a mistake and firewalla inspects every packet transferred on the network?  Thanks

  The blue shouldn't even see your local traffic ... that traffic should stay within your switch.   Do check how you are testing, make sure you use ethernet not wifi if possible.

  Thanks, that is what I thought.  I plugged the firewalla into the router and the switches also into the router.  Everything else is plugged into a switch.
