Hello Firewallers!

 I am a new owner of a Firewalla Gold and very curious too.
 I did not touch or remove it or anything like that because I know if it is there, it is necessary, but the question remains:
 What is it for and what does the red "pen drive" with the Firewalla logo that comes plugged in the usb port (Firewalla Gold)?

  The install instructions say this:

  • A red security dongle with the Firewalla logo is plugged into one of the USB ports.  It is used for box pairing and activation. Please DO NOT remove it.
