How can I export my broadband/bandwidth data into excel?

I'm monitoring my broadband/bandwidth usage for a thesis I'm working on which is why I'd like (need) to export my data into excel. Any suggestions?

  We don't measure or keep that data on the box.  But, since all of the units runs Ubuntu Linux, you can very easily script something and have that data output to a file
