Grouping on the Gold is not new, it been there for a long time.

If you are on the Gold, you shouldn't need to control monitoring on/off, is there any reason you are trying to do that?

Currently attached in simple mode only. Encountering issues with random devices losing connectivity; Win10 wireless NIC, Sprinkler system, and air monitor. Will eventually reconfigure in router mode but need time to plan and accomplish that.

What is the router you are using with the Gold in simple mode? Maybe there is a workaround to solve the drops.   The problem with the simple mode is, it is really simple to install works great if the router is compatible;  if not, there can be some problems.  This is the reason, on the Gold we encourage everyone to just to use the router mode.

Netgear Nighthawk RAX80. Isn't on the supported lists but I'll be a first to try and see how it goes.

Some info that may be of help to someone related to my known 3 issues. During my troubleshooting I isolated my Firewalla and Fingbox and enabled/disabled every feature of both to narrow down and replicate root cause.

    1. "Sprinkl" irrigation system controller - confirmed 100% Firewalla kills this device wifi connection within 5 seconds of enabling monitoring. Disabling monitoring returns the device wifi connection just as fast.

    2. Awair Glow "C" air monitor - testing suggests that Firewalla "Device Port Scan" kills this device wifi connection at random intervals usually taking between 1-3 hours +/-. With "Device Port Scan" disabled the device has yet to disconnect after 7 hours. I'll continue longer testing to confirm. Once whatever kills this device connection it only returns after a device power cycle.  If root cause is the Device Port Scan Im interested in if there are options to remediate this because its a feature I would like working.

    3. Windows 10 Pro laptop wifi - with my hidden wireless network fully configured is unable to see or connect. It can see all other broadcasting SSID's, but literally doesn't even show my configured SSID as an available network. I disabled Fingbox Wifi Monitoring and the laptop then saw the network and connected on it own. This has been working for a full day now but I need additional testing to be 100% confident.

I need to get to a point of getting all other features back online and coexisting together to best determine full compatibility with the router. And of course Im still in simple mode (experimental simple).

@shane, are you under simple mode RAX80? If you are, would be possible to try DHCP mode and see if you still having issues?

The RAX80 is my primary WAN connected router and is serving DHCP to the network. It connects to a FIOS ONT providing 1gb service. All routers, switches and otehr interconnect devices and cabling are 1gb including cabling. There are 76 network devices, approx 58 are online all the time, the rest are on/off at various times. Most of the 76 devices are persistent DHCP but approx a dozen devices are static IP. There is also a remote Nighthawk R7000  in AP mode in a 2nd building 100" away connected via Ethernet cable that provides wifi to that building but devices connected to this AP also get DHCP via the RAX80. The Sprinkl connects to the AP while the other two devices connect to the RAX80.  No other devices connecting to the AP have issues. All three devices involved here are DHCP.

The #2 scenario remains solid with no disconnects and Device Port Scan disabled.

The #3 scenario also remains connected, though not Firewalla issue but for reference.

Figured I would provide an update for anyone interested.

#1 scenario where Firewalla Monitoring disconnects Sprinkl wifi connection - I initially disabled Firewalla Monitoring to stop the disconnects which worked great, but have since been able to enable Firewalla Monitoring and retain Sprinkl wifi connection by adding the Firewalla device to the 'Allow' ACL on the AP which Sprinkl connects. No issues since with disconnects and Monitoring enabled.

#2 scenario hasnt changed. Firewalla Device Port Scan totally kills the Awair Glow C device wifi connections, so I must leave Device Port Scan disabled.

#3 scenario - while Fingbox related I initially disabled Fingbox Wifi Monitoring which worked great, but I changed the wifi channel from 1 to 5 to avoid some area wifi's that arent mine and by doing this Im now able to have Fingbox Wifi Monitoring enabled with no abnormal hiding of the SSID in the Windows 10 UI. Very strange, but works.
