    hi

Firewalla posted this a few weeks ago:

Once you have the controller up and running, you can configure a captive portal.  my controller is on a raspberry pi, but i have a similar setup it seems: Firewalla + UniFi network.  I have a guest portal active.  works well.  maybe this helps.

    good luck.

    Hi Larry,

thank you for the answer! I mistook the term "controller" for the USG and didn't realize that the captive portal still works even without USG. :) So my personal problem is solved, I can still provide a portal to my guests.

But I guess the feature request remains valid for all the people without a decent guest portal solution.

    Rock on,
    Folker

Do I need any Unifi items at all to do this? I just want a Captive Portal for my guest Wifi

@kenneth Firewalla will let you limit access for unrecognized devices (e.g. only allow internet access or allow no access) but there is no captive portal feature yet. Yes, you can do this with Unifi + FWG.

Looking to see if Firewalla has a built in captive portal on the roadmap?

I understand I can create one with Unifi, but this would be a great built in feature.

This would be a great addition as it help in managing all guest devices seamlessly.

I don’t have UniFi. We are using this hard wired and have free internet via Ethernet only. How do I set this up?

Upvoted, would love to see a basic native Captive Portal functionality included in the config. Nothing crazy, just the ability to add a custom image and some text before an "I agree, connect me" button.

I agree. I’m running a Captive Portal with my TP-Link Omada controller, but when my guests are properly authorized they are not automatically released from the Quarantine group and placed into my Guest group. A native portal would be great to help instrument this automatic behavior.
