Is it normal for ports 22 and 53 to be open when using Firewalla Gold?

I'm trying to move from my old Ubiquiti EdgeRouter Lite to the Firewalla Gold.  Upon initial setup, it indicates that ports 22 and 53 are open to the outside.  Is this normal?  Is there a way to block those ports?  When I go back to my EdgeRouter they are not showing as open any longer.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

  No ports should be open to the outside.  (unless you turn them on).  Double-check your scanning and make sure they are targeted from outside in.

  I am getting  hit by SSH hits several times per day, upon doing some research I checked for open ports 22 & 53, I can't find anything inside on my LAN that is requesting these ports to be open. Using Firewall how do I block them?

  First check if you have a Public IP address. If you do, then are you using the Gold as a router? or some other router? if some other router, check its configuration. If it is gold, let me know
