Firewalla Blue drops wifi internet?

My firewalla blue on simple mode loses my wifi internet connection. It's on all my devices connected to my ssid. If I disable and enable on my android phone, it comes back up for about a minute then loses internet. Same on IOS. How come there is no phone support?

If your wifi is dropping and ethernet (LAN) is not dropping, it is highly likely it is related to a compatibility issue in simple mode with your router.

What is the make and model of your router? compatibility guide/... here https://firewalla.com/compatibility

And when this happens, we usually suggest you try the experimental simple mode first, if that works, then stick with it. If not, you will need to change to DHCP mode.

On support email now, yes this is what they recommended and so far so good. Netgear C7800

Hi

It happens as well that sometimes, one of my device loses internet connection either if another is downloading. It never happened in the past. I could think of a local issue in the Firewalla area as well.. usually it's really fast though.

When problems happen, we recommend you to look at the following

1. check your device and see if your device has an IP address or not. If you are in simple mode, then this is your router problem. If you are in DHCP or router mode, it is either firewalla or your access point. The most solution that works is just reboot the AP.

2. ping 8.8.8.8 // if this fails, your internet is dead, go to next

3. ping [your router IP] // if this fails your router is dead.

4. nslookup google.com // if this is dead, and (2)(3) are good, your DNS is dead
