When devices are on different networks, some protocols don't get across the network.  When this happens, you can use IP address or use the device domain name as in here

I'll try that for device name, but why is DLNA no longer working?

hmmmm, also noticed that on all PCs, it doesnt show the NAS in the network devices anymore either.  I can go to \\nas and get there, but it doesnt show up via network discovery anymore.

Can you check if your DLNA/NAS devices are on the same network as other devices?   Likely some devices are you hearing the broadcasts.

DLNA uses UPnP( a multicast based protocol) for discovery. Multicast does not work across subnets directly. It requires the router to support multicast forwarding (like IGMP). I don't know if the Gold supports IGMP, did not see any configuration options.

The simplest solution is to have all the DLNA devices on the same subnet.

I am having this same issue with a Sony BluRay and Synology NAS, but with both wired, and on the same subnet.

    Troubleshooting this far:
-Reset the Sony, and re-initiated the server pairing
    - NAS has static IP address
    - Reset/wiped all client registrations from the DLNA settings on the NAS.
    - Reinitiated the connection from the Sony to the NAS, the NAS registers the Sony as a client, but Sony doesn’t see NAS.
    - Web browser on Sony, can hit web page of NAS.
    - UPnP is enabled on the LAN where both reside
    - Next step is pull Firewalla to see if is the issue

What firewalla product do you have? and which mode are you using?

If you are using simple mode/routermode, everything is transparent.   You may have issues if you are using router mode + network segmentation where your devices are on different segments and the switch's not configured to pass multicast over.  Or if you are in DHCP mode, and one device in the old IP range and another device in the new overlay DHCP space.

I believe I am in Simple mode, have a Firewalla Blue running Beta software. All items involved are in the same IP space/subnet.

When your devices are on the LAN, you are accessing them from LAN to LAN, firewalla is 'not' in the picture. LAN traffic stays completely inside, firewalla doesn't see them.

Great clarification. I will look elsewhere then.
