Multi-WAN is going through testing, it is very closed to be in beta stage.  If you are on beta (for the Gold) (tap on gears->advanced->beta->join box beta), you should get a notification when it is out.

Multi-WAN is currently under development. You will be able to configure ping test target for each WAN. The backend actually also supports configuring the DNS lookup target but it may be not configurable in the app in the next release. The connectivity check will use ping and DNS lookup to determine if a WAN connection is normal. The failover should happen within one minute after the WAN connectivity is down. All related features, e.g., port forwarding, VPN server will automatically switch over. You will also be able to configure whether to switch back to the primary WAN if it is back to normal.

Thank you! I'm wondering is 1 minute kind of the industry standard? With distance learning and work from home, being down for a minute is a lot. With my ASUS it takes almost a minute to switch over and then the second ISP goes from "cold" connection status to on. So in all it can take 2 minutes to get fully functional. That is not super useful since the zoom or whatever has already disconnected. I am new to multi-WAN but I was hoping for a smoother cutover.

Thanks for the feedback. From our current tests, WAN switch over should be complete within 1 minute. However, since it is the initial version of multi-WAN implementation on Firewalla Gold, there will be surely improvements and tunings in the upcoming releases. We will first make sure it works properly and then try to make to smoother. I can imagine it's not trivial to make cutover smooth and accurate. The last ten miles are always the hardest but we will keep improving :)

    Understood.

It might be nice to have the option of a notification when it is switching to secondary WAN and back. At least that way I'd know that I don't have to go into "debug" mode to save my network... in a minute things should correct themselves.

Thanks for the update, will it support LACP-IEEE 802.3ad?

This is the feature I'm waiting for before integrating the Gold into my system fully.

Will feature act as failover or aggregator or both?

Would be fantastic to get aggregation not just simple failover.

It will do both primary standby mode, and also load balancer, which you can pick the percentage of the load.

You can't do that with multi WAN's for sure, multi WAN is to load balance between 2 or more (we support 2 for now 1.971) service providers.  Link bonding is definitely possible with the Firewalla, but we are unlikely to do anything until a small portion of the customer base is on > 1.5Gbit.

Please if you can add function Dual WAN same Subnet. I have up to 4 static IP Addresses same Subnet. I have modem that has 4 1G ports and would like to run 2 of those as incoming wans but current firewall Gold will not allow 2 connects coming in from same provider.
