Please help choose device

I have a few questions about which device i should go with and if it will work with my device. I use a Portal Wifi router with xfinity data of 300mbs coming in. I obviously need either a Blue or Gold but i am hoping to use the vpn service and thinking 120mbs may be better then the 70mbs but not sure if it is needed. I would like to hear other peoples opinions and if anyone thinks my router may be a problem as i didn't see it on the compatibility list.

  Looking through the co.padablity list again i did find portal wifi on there without the option for shop mode. This is fine but i just want to make sure when this mode is turned off i can still use the vpn server wich is one of the big reason i want to purchase this device.
