Does DNS over HTTPs functionality work alongside VPN client...It seems that if one is turned on the other wont work.. For instance if DNS over HTTps is turned on, my VPN client seems not to be connecting to the third party.

  You are right. They can't work together. VPN Client doesn't work with DoH or Family Protect. In next major release, we may support both.

   

  For your use case, VPN client will not take advantage of DoH when enabled. But VPN client should still be able to connect. something is not right here.
