Which one do I need?

    1. Look at the speed of your internet, if you have <100mbit, then get the red, of you have more, or potentially have more, get the blue, the blue can do up to 500Mbit. 

    2. The blue also has more memory for more features, so if you want more advanced features, get the blue.  (For example, geo-block and site to site VPN, if you don't know what these are, get the Red).

    Hello again,  I looked at the installation instructions on youtube and it says I need to use an ethernet cable between the device and my Dlink router.  My router has only one ethernet plug and my computer is plugged into it.  Can I use an ethernet splitter.  Or will that just cause problems.

    What you need is a gigabit switch https://www.amazon.com/Ethernet-Splitter-Optimization-Unmanaged-TL-SG105/dp/B00A128S24 . this one costs around $16 (at the time of posting), which is good enough, absolutely have zero ideas why they call this thing a 'splitter'.  The ethernet splitter (that's not powered) is not recommended (some of them use a trick to split signals, and ... limited to 100Mbit or less.)
