Putting firewalla on a virtual machine (vm ware, virtual box etc.)
Would there be a way to install firewalla on a virtual machine at home to be able to experience your 2 gigabit network with this software? I mean I would probably assume you could, maybe you can just get Debian or Ubuntu since you are able to run it on a raspberry pi.
This is also on github I tried to install it on one, but did not work out all too well even though I did successfully install it. The app is basically not picking it up, and wonder how it really works and stuff. Unless I really need to install it on a raspberry pi and see how that works, but my assumption was that it got everything from the router details.

The x86 was never fully working. At least the data plane, (traffic/switching...) that path was never optimized. We used to develop under dockers, so the majority of none data path parts should be already working.
As of 'do we want to support other platforms'? It is really a business decision. If there are enough people asking for it, and also willing to pay, we will be very happy to make it happen.

I'd definitely pay if it were up to me, but I totally get you on the business side of things. At least a subscription service to use the software would be amazing. If it were up to me, I'd probably build a server just for it instead of a virtual machine.
But either way thank you for the heads-up. I greatly appreciate it.

I use firewalla blue and am in love with it! I do wish i could do more from my pc side of it like extract logs to keep a database, put together some metrics per device, and get more detailed information on actual page being viewed besides site. I would love some tutorials on this or a new version of software i can purchase for my nas or raspberry pi i have sitting around

A software-only version is definitely a possibility. Our own problem is funding that part of work; And to our understanding, normal consumers don't value software as with hardware, which means we might do something creative such we can all get paid doing this work. (Firewalla running on i7 ... is blazing fast)
As of more creative ways of extracting data also falls into the same category as above, funding that will also cost.
In all, remember we are a startup, feeding developers are not cheap.

Thank you for your response, i agree with the other user that this is something i would pay for as well, i even have an older desktop computer that i use for running linux vms and repurpose almost yearly for projects and such, i would be very interested in a proposal for how this would work on a pc, and pricing model (one time preferred) along with more features for organizing the data, exporting information, being able to visualize /audit a link trail, compare device usage, and be able to whitelist or hide the hiarchy of known site vs unknown so we can reduce noise when combing through logs for starters.
I appreciate you responding to my comment, another plus for firewalla for sure!! Have you ever taken a pole with your customers to see if this is something they would be in to? Thank you for making this awesome product!
