Installing with a Ubiquiti EdgeRouter Lite (erlite-3) as the Internet gateway

I have a ubiquiti erlite-3 (edgerouter lite). It is set up with one WAN port and two separate LAN ports. The LAN ports on the erlite are not bridged, as that can have a negative performance impact on the erlite-3. Downstream of the erlite-3, I have a gigabit cisco switch, where all of my other network systems are funneled through to reach the edgerouter to access the internet.

Given this setup, would it be acceptable (without impacting performance) to utilize the blue firewalla connected to the cisco switch? Based on the information I read so far, it seemed the recommendation was to connect the firewall directly to a port on the network router, but in my case, I don't actually have an available port running on the same internal network as the router. Has anyone else set up a firewalla with the erlite-3 as their internet gateway router?

  Connecting the Firewalla to the Cisco switch should work unless you are doing anything that segregates traffic, e.g., VLANing.
