opendns options

I have a question concerning firewalla and opendns. I do not have the firewalla blue I ordered yet, but have been looking around the community help forum to learn more about it. I also currently use opendns at home, and I run their app on my PC so that they are notified when my outside IP addresses changes. I use the free “opendns home” so I can pick what categories to block, which is why I need to run that app, otherwise I lose my options as they are set by the source IP that their DNS servers see from me. I’m sure I’m not telling you something that you don’t already know… I assume firewalla is using the “opendns family shield” which is configured to only block adult content? My real question is, can I still use the opendns services I am currently using. Furthermore, can I use firewalla to keep opendns updated as to what my current outside IP is instead of running the app on my PC?

  So funny enough I just found that someone had already posted a similar question, so I guess that just leaves; can firewalla update opendns as to what my outside IP is?
